Hi, there! I’m Nicole. I’m 34 years old and located in Tampa, FL. These days, I wear many hats – wife, mom, pelvic floor occupational therapist, yoga instructor, and author. One thing I carry through each of these titles is my passion to help and care for others. Whether it’s through my one on one work with my clients, or words I’ve written in my blog or book, at my core I’m dedicated to helping others live a more balanced and fulfilled life.
Wife + Mom
In 2018, I married my amazing husband, Cort, and we welcomed the sweetest baby boy, Ridley, in August 2020. Being pregnant during a pandemic was a wild ride, but entering postpartum was even more challenging. I’m still learning and growing as a mother and blogging about all the lessons I’m learning along the way.
My Wellness Journey
At just 25, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia – a chronic condition that causes widespread pain and fatigue. At the time, I didn’t understand why I was experiencing these symptoms at such a young age when I was otherwise healthy. Years later, I learned I have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which explains much of the pain of I have experienced throughout my life. I found the combination of manual therapy, yoga, and holistic approaches, like acupuncture and chiropractic care, helped best manage my symptoms.
OT
I attended Elizabethtown College and graduated with my Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2012. I’ve worked with the adult population in a variety of settings, including home health, skilled nursing, outpatient rehab, and acute inpatient rehab. I now specialize in Pelvic Health and have over 100 hours in specialty pelvic health coursework and training. In addition, my personal experience with chronic pain inspired me to pursue training in Graston Technique after I learned first hand how effective this method is in relieving soft tissue and myofascial pain. Since 2017, I’ve helped hundreds of patients relieve pain and improve joint mobility through a holistic approach, combining hands-on manual therapies, corrective exercises, and lifestyle modifications.
Yoga
I am a Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT-200) and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) with Yoga Alliance. I specialize in prenatal yoga, traditional hot yoga, and adaptive yoga for seniors. As an occupational therapist, I specialize in modifying yoga postures for EVERY body. We’re not all super flexible and that’s OK! I offer private 1-on-1 yoga sessions in the Tampa Bay area to those wanting to learn more at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home.
